Design on screen. Print it for real. At our 3D Printing Club in Chelmsford, children learn to design their own 3D models in Tinkercad and see them come to life on our 3D printer.
What your child will do
- Learn 3D modelling in Tinkercad, beginner-friendly design software
- Design their own objects, from simple shapes to more complex creations
- Monthly print day — bring their design to life on our 3D printer
- Build spatial reasoning and technical precision

Trial sessions are a chance for your child to try Tinkercad and see our 3D printer in action, so you can both decide whether it’s something they’d like to learn. They won’t leave the trial with a printed model.

Questions parents ask
Does my child need any experience?
No experience of 3D design is needed. Children do need to be able to use a computer and mouse on their own.
What is Tinkercad?
Tinkercad is free, beginner-friendly 3D design software that runs in a web browser, so children can keep practising at home if they want to.
How often do designs get printed?
Once a month we hold a print day, when children’s finished designs are printed on our 3D printer. A design is only printed once it’s ready — checked for gaps and stray lines — so children usually work on a design over several sessions first.
How does booking work?
Start with a trial session to try Tinkercad and see the 3D printer. If your child enjoys it, they can join the club at £64 per month.
What else do you run?
We also run an Engineering Club, LEGO Robotics Club, Animation Club, Drones in a Cage and school-holiday STEM camps. See all programmes.
