Thank you for STEM Days. The children thrived and their excitement and enthusiasm was palpable. In a very short space of time, they discovered the key elements of engineering and its process and applied them to a project of their own — it was brilliant to witness. The teachers told me that they valued observing the lessons and each came away with a different aspect that they are going to add into their own pedagogy. Just some of these were: using open questioning; providing the children with a ‘real life’ problem to solve; allowing the children to ‘tinker’ with their project; ensuring that sufficient time is given to evaluate and then re-design or tweak their project; and giving the children the freedom to take the project home, enhance it and bring it back to share.
Thank you to Gary and Julie who ran an awesome birthday party for my son and his friends last weekend. They had a blast making their vehicles and then competing in the various challenges and re-engineering them. They all absolutely loved it!
My son’s been coming along to classes for nearly 2 years and it’s been an amazing confidence builder for him. Gary has so much patience with the children and really builds the children’s trust and confidence.
We currently do after school classes weekly, but we do love doing extra sessions with the Lego robotics sessions in the holidays and weekends where possible. Thank you to all the team — we highly recommend!
