STEM Engineering Saturday Club

Join us every Saturday for an exciting adventure into the world of engineering! Our Engineering Saturday Club is all about sparking creativity, problem-solving skills, and a love for STEM through practical activities and interactive sessions.

Each week brings something new! Children might design and test bridges, build their own robots, or launch mini rockets. One week they could be creating thrilling roller coasters using physics, and the next, programming circuits to light up a model city!

With teamwork, creativity, and loads of fun experiments, our Saturday Club is the perfect way for kids to learn by doing – and see their brilliant ideas come to life. No two sessions are the same, so there’s always something exciting to discover!

Ideal for young inventors, problem-solvers, and curious minds, the Engineering Saturday Club is where learning meets adventure!

3D Printing Club

Braintree & Chelmsford

(Must be able to use a computer mouse)

Design, Create, and Print Your Ideas!

Discover the exciting world of 3D design and printing in our 3D Printing Club! Each week, students will dive into Tinkercad, a beginner-friendly 3D modelling tool, to learn how to design their own unique models. Through guided lessons and hands-on practice, members will develop essential skills in digital design, problem-solving, and creativity.

Once a month, when a project design is finalized, students will have the opportunity to bring their creations to life using our 3D printer. During this process, they’ll not only see their ideas take shape but also gain an understanding of how 3D printers work, including the mechanics, materials, and techniques involved.

Whether you’re passionate about engineering, art, or technology, this club is the perfect space to learn, create, and innovate. No prior experience is required—just curiosity and imagination!

Piper Computer Workshop ( 5 week workshop)

Chelmsford – Ages 10+

Build & Code – Hands-On STEM Fun
With the Piper Computer Kit, children get an amazing introduction to STEM by building a real, fully working computer from a wooden, puzzle-style kit. Powered by Raspberry Pi, the kit includes a screen, speaker, battery, and all the components needed. Guided by story-driven blueprints, kids explore engineering principles and electrical circuits while constructing their own computer – encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Learn Through Minecraft: Pi Edition
Once their computer is ready, children unlock Minecraft: Pi Edition StoryMode, an exciting learning platform where they apply coding and electronics skills in a familiar virtual world. It’s a brilliant way to blend physical building with digital creation – making learning fun, interactive, and engaging!

Step-by-Step Coding Adventures
Piper includes over 24 coding projects, starting with beginner-friendly Blockly drag-and-drop coding and progressing to PiperCode, a text-based coding language. Children move from the basics to more advanced challenges, building confidence and real coding skills along the way.

Animation Club

Chelmsford

New – Now also available on Sunday’s in Chelmsford!!!

Step into the imaginative world of Motion Commotion, where creativity, storytelling, and engineering come together through the art of animation. Over six weeks, students will explore different techniques to bring characters, scenes, and objects to life, one frame at a time.

From clay and sand animation to masking techniques and sound design, each session blends artistic expression with technical skill. Students will experiment with materials, plan their scenes, and problem-solve like engineers as they design, build, and refine their ideas.

By the end of the course, every student will have created a collection of animated projects that showcase their creativity, teamwork, and ability to think like both artists and engineers.

Game Design – Minecraft EDU

Braintree & Chelmsford

Please ask for more information

In this club, children become game designers — imagining, creating and sharing their own interactive worlds using the power of game‑based learning. Building on the kind of experience found in Minecraft Education, our club helps students move from players to creators.

Design & Build: Children plan their game — setting a theme, designing levels, creating challenges and deciding what “winning” looks like. They’ll structure their ideas so that a player has to move through objectives and decisions.

Coding & Logic: Using kid‑friendly coding tools (block‑based or drag‑and‑drop), participants bring their games to life. They’ll learn programming concepts such as sequences, loops, events/triggers and conditionals.

Who it’s ideal for

This club is perfect for children who:

  • Love playing games and now want to make them

  • Are curious about how games work (what makes them fun, what makes them challenging)

  • Enjoy building and experimenting — and want a project they can share

  • Want to learn coding or design skills in a creative, low‑pressure way
